A sense of the Uncanny within domestic space

Based on domestic space within Western cultures in the 20th and 21st Century, the architect, projects their understanding of modern day social structures through the planning and realisation of a given building.

Exploring artists such as Gregor Schneider (who alters domestic space to communicate the idea of the disorientated and dysfunctional individual) we are able to investigate the idea that the home encourages an emotional reaction; a sense of repression, anxiety or fear through the way a space is enclosed and segregated for living in.
